ANT+ module question

Hi Folks,

I am trying to figure out if there are any drop-in ANT+ modules available that combine a microcontroller (in the same way as the ANT11TS33MxIB Module combines ANT and sensrcore enabled microcontroller). My understanding is that an ANT+ profile cannot be implemented through Sensrcore - although I could be wrong. I am a total newbee and have done quite a bit of searching on this topic without much success. I have an application wherein I would like to broadcast bicycle power (PWR) data from a single sensor to an ANT+ enabled receiver. Any input greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Niall

There are plans for ANT to release a module using the new nRF51422 SOC from Nordic. It is expected to be available in the fall. RF Digital has plans to release an ANT version of their nRF51822 module in a few weeks http://www.rfdigital.com

Hi Niall,

Yes, that's correct, it's not possible to implement a device profile using SensRcore. So it sounds worth waiting for these new modules (thanks Big ANT!).

In the meantime, you might find it useful to take a look at this page for info on how to get started with your project: http://www.thisisant.com/developer/ant/starting-your-project/

You'll likely need ANTwareII and the latest simulator: SimulANT+ for development and testing, so getting hold of 2 ANT USB sticks will also help you.

If you have any questions about the ANT+ bike power device profile specifically then you are welcome to post them in the ANT+ Forum.
