ANT+ and electric bikes

I am building an electric bike with a pedal assist system. If I pedal, the bike measures my effort and outputs a proportionate amount of power from an electric motor. I would like to use a SRM powermeter crankset to measure my power output. I am having trouble designing a system that will allow the powermeter (which communicates with ANT+) to communicate with the motor controller. Any suggestions?

Hi Mitch,

A couple of suggestions:

1) sign up as an ANT+ Adopter (click on 'myANT+' at the top right of the page to upgrade - it is free.) so you can download the ANT+ Bicycle Power Device Profile which will help you understand the data from your SRM meter. Note that SRM typically transmits as CTF. Then if you have specific bike power questions you can ask them in the ANT+ bike power forum. (this will show up when you are an ANT+ Adopter)

2) Take a look at the ANT+ LEV Device Profile - designed for controlling electric bikes.

Kind regards,

Kat
