Bit of a weird project — I’m building a motorized wall panel that hides a TV behind a large piece of artwork. I need an actuator that’s quiet and smooth, but still strong enough to move a fairly heavy frame. Any suggestions on where to buy something reliable that ships in Australia?

Oh I love this idea — hiding a TV behind a motorized art panel sounds both sleek and functional. For something like that, you’ll want an actuator that’s quiet but still has a smooth, controlled motion to avoid jerky movement. I’d definitely recommend checking out actuator https://progressiveautomations.com.au/pages/actuators . They’ve got a few actuators that are ideal for home automation projects like this, especially their quieter models designed for furniture and cabinetry. I’ve used one of their actuators for a similar “moving wall” project and it’s been running great for over a year now. The motion is smooth, and the noise is minimal — you barely notice it working. They also offer remote control options or simple rocker switches depending on how you want to trigger the movement. Their site has all the specs clearly laid out, and the build quality is honestly better than I expected. Give them a look — I think you’ll find exactly what you need.

Really appreciate this! I’ve been stuck trying to find an actuator that could quietly move a heavy frame, and most options I’ve seen just looked overkill or too loud. Just took a look at Progressive Automations and their range looks solid. Can’t wait to try it out — thanks again for the tip!
