Hi, iam new to all this and hardly find answers for my question:

Is it possible to pair for example a Bontrager TransmitR and use those remote buttons to switch GPIOs on nRF51422 (or something else) from low to high and back?

If not, is there another way to do something like this?      

If it's using an ANT+ Device Profile then yes, you should have all the information you need in the device profile to interact with the remote. According to the directory, it looks like it uses the ANT+ Bike Light Device Profile.
