Time sync limitations / accuracy

I'm trying to establish a time sync between a single master and multiple slaves. I found the "Time Sync Application Note" DOC00001686 which looks very helpful. The note mentions a margin of error of 61us which is limited by 2 ticks of a 32k RTC.

Has anyone tested whether this is the true limitation in practice or is it more of a theoretical lower bound on the error? (Are time sync errors in real implementations usually driven by other factors?)

(Newbie here, so please forgive if this is a very basic or redundant question.)

Hi,

This is the theoretical error bound. In practice, we actually normally only see an average error of around ~17uS during a synchronization event (1/2 of a 32.768 kHz clock tick).
