So I’ve got this themed party coming up—think Victorian mystery meets sci-fi fantasy—and I’m kinda stuck on the outfit. I’ve browsed a bunch of places but everything either looks too theatrical or just low quality. Anyone know where people actually find good, wearable steampunk stuff that doesn’t scream Halloween costume?      

Totally get what you mean. A lot of what's out there either looks like cosplay or just feels mass-produced. I had the same problem prepping for a retro-futurist shoot and finally came across this site that really nailed it. Always a weird balance between theatrical and tasteful with this kind of style. Harder than it looks to get it right.
