Hi,

Profile.xlsx version 20.96.00 has an entry in mesg_num for [pad (105)] but no corresponding message definition

Could it be possible to have it added?

Which language are you seeing issues with? I see pad_mesg_def in fit_example.c
This message is somewhat special in that it doesn't have any fields, so it doesn't appear in the messages tab.

Hi haighi,

Thanks for the answer. I am trying to create a parser from scratch just by looking at the pdf doc and the profile.xlsx file, so it was just an unexpected condition I picked up by looking at those, nothing wrong with the code supplied

Is it the spec that any value found in mesg_num without a defined message should be understood as a message with no fields or pad requires a special exception? It might be a bit of an insignificant difference, since pad is the only one in this category, I am just curious

Hi Joan,

I would say pad is going to be the only message ever in this category. Messages are fundamentally useful based on the fields they have. The pad message is a special construct in many ways because it is not used to communicate information, but align data in the file.
