You ever get a notification from a store the second you walk by? Happened to me yesterday, and it got me thinking about geofencing—how businesses set up these invisible digital perimeters that trigger offers or messages when you enter a certain area. Seems like a genius way to engage customers, but I wonder if too many brands start doing it, will people just start ignoring them?

That’s the challenge—making it feel useful instead of spammy. When done right, geofencing can make shopping more convenient, like reminding you about a deal when you’re near a store you already shop at. I saw an article on https://www.bluedothq.com/tools/google-meet-transcription-extension that talked about how businesses use this tech to send event reminders or even help with navigation inside large venues. I think it’s great as long as it’s targeted properly and not just blasting people with random notifications.

I’ve actually had geofencing work in my favor. Got a discount on something I was already planning to buy just because I was near a store. So yeah, if it’s useful, I don’t mind. But if my phone starts buzzing every time I walk past a mall, that’s when it gets annoying. It’s all about how smart companies are with using it.
