Many Android mobile devices support ANT+ natively. If your device is listed on the ANT+ Product Directory, simply install your desired ANT+ capable application and the following free services from the Google Play Store (which are typically pre-installed):

Galaxy tab 4 is listed. I purchased one and tried to scan for ant devices. It says need ANT Adapter.

Samsung tech support does not appear to even know what ANT+ is.

Can anyone help.

Do I need and external adapter with Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 ???

Unfortunately not all models may come with ANT natively, currently the ANT+ Directory only lists one certified model: SM-T237P

The model supports ANT natively if you can find the "ANT HAL Service" installed under "All" in the "Application Manager". If not you will need an ANT USB Stick, a USB OTG cable, and install 3 services from the Play Store: ANT Radio Service, ANT+ Plugin Service, and ANT USB Service.
