I have had a request to be able to support more than one ANT device simultaniously in my app IpPeloton so you could monitor more than 8 devices simultaniously. Of course the curent API has no support for this you can not even choose between embeded ANT and USB based ANT.

Is this on of the features for the new API which I regularly see hints about?      

Yes, the new API will support opening any number of channels on any number of connected devices, ie. if 1 onboard ANT radio and 3 ANT USB sticks are attached, you should have 32 separate channels available shared amongst all apps running in the foreground/background.

I can't give you a firm date, but probably in the next few months.
