ANT+ SUSPENSION DEVICE PROFILE TWG

Why develop an ANT+ Suspension Device Profile?
ANT+ already provides the most complete and widely adopted set of interoperable wireless data available to the cycling community. Adding real-time suspension data and the ability to lock / unlock the suspension during a ride adds another dimension to the experience for road cyclists and provides a key insight for mountain bike, 4x, and cross country riders. Access to wireless suspension data can also help make suspension set up and servicing faster, easier and more precisely tuned to the rider.

Data Accessibility
The ANT+ Suspension Device Profile will allow for the seamless transfer of data between the suspension sensor and displays, remote controls, and action cameras.

ANT+ Suspension TWG
We have been working with Magura to create an initial ANT+ Suspension Device Profile and would now like to invite all interested ANT+ Alliance Members to join the suspension Technical Working Group (TWG) and ensure it provides the key data your products will benefit the most from. The initial profile covering a slim use case is currently at alpha stage and is expected to be released to ANT+ Members this spring. We would like your input to help prioritize the data and features to add next.

What does it mean to be part of the ANT+ Suspension TWG?
ANT+ Device Profiles are created with a committee of ANT+ Members who have a special interest in a particular use case (such as bike suspension). Collectively this committee is referred to as the Technical Working Group. TWG members are anonymous to each other and we do not share any information between members other than information pertinent to the creation of the profile. TWG members will be asked what needs they would like this device profile to address, and to review and comment on profile drafts.

The Process

• The alpha device profile will be shared with TWG members and we will ask for feedback.

• The member early release device profile will be released once the profile is mature.  Member early release profiles are guaranteed to be backwards compatible.  For this reason it is important not to move to this release until a profile is relatively mature and stable.  The member early release profile will be accessible to all ANT+ Alliance members, not just the TWG.

• The fully released device profile will be released several months after the member early release profile (and typically after product has been released that implements the profile), so that it becomes accessible to all ANT+ Adopters.

Throughout this process, and continuing into the future development of the profile, we will keep the TWG informed of any changes, and you will typically see alpha drafts of proposed profile improvements and be given the chance to comment.  Occasionally this review step will be omitted if we are working with a customer with tight time constraints.

The majority of this process will take place via email, although there may be occasional phone discussions.  You will always be welcome to contact us at any stage.

How does my company join the TWG?

To join a Technical Working Group,

1. Your company must be an ANT+ Member.  There are no additional fees or obligations to being a Technical Working Group participant.
2. You must sign a TWG agreement on behalf of your company. The agreement is simply to express a common understanding of confidentiality, IP exchange etc. 

NOTE:  If you have already signed a TWG agreement then your confidentiality agreement is automatically transferred to this TWG.  Simply let us know of your desire to participate.

• Go to the Member Early Release Document download area
• Return the complete scanned document (all pages required) to me[email protected]

The ANT+ Sync Device Profile Rev 1.0 is now available to all ANT+ Adopters on the downloads page. For an overview of the sync use case see the ANT+ Device Profiles page.

FIT SDK 9.20 Update
Version 9.10 of the FIT SDK is now available on the downloads page.  This release includes updates to the FIT Profile definitions.

Certification Updates 
An updated version of the Self Verifcation package is available on the on the ANT+ Product Certification page.  It includes version 2.2 of the Specification and version 1.3.5 of the Verification Tool.

FIT SDK 9.10 Update
Version 9.10 of the FIT SDK is now available on the downloads page.  This release includes updates to the FIT Profile definitions including release of the MO2 fields.  Bugfixes resolve an issue with setting string fields in C#.

SimulANT+ 1.5.1 Beta
SimulANT+ 1.5.1 Beta  is now available to ANT+ Members on the downloads page. This update adds simulators for glucose and pressure sensor array devices.

SimulANT+ 1.5 Released
SimulANT+ 1.5 is now available to all ANT+ Adopters on the downloads page. This update adds simulators for the recently released Muscle Oxygen device profile and torque-based bike power sensors.

ANT+ Muscle Oxygen Device Profile Rev 1.0 Released
The ANT+ Muscle Oxygen Device Profile Rev 1.0 is now available to all ANT+ Adopters on the downloads page. For an overview of the muscle oxygen use case see the ANT+ Device Profiles page.

ANT+ Device Profile Request Form Available
The ANT+ Device Profile Request Form is now available to all ANT+ Members in the 'beta' section of the downloads page. Fill out this form to propose ideas for new ANT+ device profiles or additional features for exisiting profiles.

ANTWare II 4.1 Released
ANTWare II 4.1 has been released now supporting Channel Search Sharing and Search Priority Levels and is available on the downloads page.
